Who Receives Donation-Related Emails from Overflow?

We understand that staying informed about your organization’s giving activity is important. Here’s how donation-related emails are managed in Overflow, and how you can ensure the right people stay in the loop.

Donation Emails and Recipients

All donation-related emails from Overflow are automatically sent to any NPO Admin with access to the Contributions module. 📧

Notification Emails

This includes messages with subject lines such as:

  • has new inactive recurring gifts
  • Congratulations! 🎉 Just Received a Stock Gift
    • 📍 This email is only sent once a stock gift moves from Initiated to In Process. This helps ensure more accurate tracking as gifts progress through key stages.
  • 's contribution was updated | Contribution:
    • 📍 For partners using our stock liquidation services, the primary contact will receive this email once a stock gift is marked as Contribution Received in the Dashboard.
  • Congratulations! 🎉 Just Received a Crypto Gift
  • Congratulations! 🎉 Just Received a DAF Gift

Donation Email FAQs

Can an Admin Opt Out of Donation Emails?

Currently, the only way to opt out is to remove an Admin's access to the Contributions module. Just something to keep in mind when setting up your team's permissions!

Why Don’t I Receive Email Notifications for Cash Donations?

Cash donations don’t generate notifications, which helps keep the process simple and efficient.

  • 🖥️ The Dashboard is the best way to stay up-to-date, where you can view incoming transactions, ACH gifts in processing, and additional statuses, such as refunds.
  • 👉🏽 Email notifications are only sent for inactive recurring gifts and noncash donations (such as stock, crypto, or DAF gifts).
