To ensure every stock donation is properly tracked and acknowledged, it’s important that all stock gifts are entered on our platform. This includes gifts processed through Overflow, as well as those initiated directly by a donor or their Financial Advisor.

When each gift is entered in advance, we can:

• ✅ Accurately match the incoming shares, especially if you utilize our stock liquidation services
• 🧾 Promptly acknowledge the donor
• 🗂️ Maintain clean and complete records

What if a Gift Wasn’t Entered Beforehand?

Our Processing team is happy to help manually record stock gifts that were transferred before they were entered on the platform. 🤝🏽

Here’s What We’ll Need

Please email our Support team (and CC stockgifts@overflow.co) with the following details:

1. Donor Information
   • 👤 First and last name
   • 📞 Phone number
   • 📧 Email address
   • 🏠 Mailing address
2. Gift Information
   • 📈 Number of shares and stock ticker(s)
   • 🗓️ Date the shares were transferred
   • 🏦 Brokerage the shares were transferred from
   • 🎯 Designation (Campaign and subcampaign, if any)

Stock Liquidation Partners

If the shares were not sent to Overflow’s Corporate brokerage account, you will need to record those gifts manually through the Gift Entry tool.

• ⛔️ This method allows you to record the donation in your Dashboard without incurring a processing fee, since the shares were donated directly to your brokerage account.

Best Practices for Recording Gifts

To help streamline the process and avoid delays, donors or their Financial Advisors should submit a new stock gift request for each donation, rather than reusing previously received DTC Transfer instructions. ⚡️

• 📦 Think of it like mailing a package: Each time you send one, you need a new shipping label, even if it’s going to the same place.
• 📋 Similarly, each stock donation needs its own entry, so it can be properly tracked and delivered.
