How Language Detection Works in Your Cash Giving Flow

Last updated: September 9, 2026

Your donors come from all kinds of backgrounds, and we want giving to feel just as easy no matter what language they speak. That's why Overflow's cash giving flow automatically adapts to Spanish for donors who need it, no setup required on your end.

How It Works

By default, your cash giving flow appears in English. If a donor's browser is set to Spanish, the giving flow will automatically switch to Spanish for them. There's nothing you need to configure.

  • ✅ Overflow detects the donor's browser's language setting and displays the giving flow accordingly.

  • This applies to your cash giving flow, including custom Giving Links. Whether a donor arrives through your standard giving page or a custom Giving Link, the same automatic translation applies.

    1. Noncash giving flows (stock, crypto, and DAF) will always appear in English.

    2. Spanish is currently the only supported translation. If a donor's browser is set to any other language, they'll see the giving flow in English. 🌎

Why This Matters

A giving flow that speaks a donor's language removes a small but real barrier to giving. Donors are more likely to complete a gift when they can read every step clearly, from entering their information to confirming the donation.

For your organization, this also means one less thing to manage. You don't need to build or maintain a separate Spanish giving page or Giving Link. 🙌🏽
