Best Mounting Methods by Surface

💺 Cloth or Upholstery

  • Tap Discs: We recommend 3M adhesive spray. It typically provides a stronger hold than velcro and should help keep them securely attached to your chairs. 💪🏽

  • Tap Plates: We recommend using the built-in screw holes on the Tap plate to attach it securely. This works well for fabric-backed chairs where you can screw into the frame. 🔩

🪑 Plastic or Wood

We recommend using 3M adhesive backing (either tape or pads) to stick the Tap devices in place. For best results, make sure the surface is clean and dry before applying.

🔩 Metal

  • Metal surfaces can sometimes interfere with the NFC signal. To ensure reliable performance, we recommend adding a small barrier between the Tap device and the metal surface (e.g., 3M adhesive backing).

  • 🛒 If you prefer a solution specifically designed for metal, you can also order Tap Magnets, which work seamlessly on metal surfaces.

Tips for a Smooth Setup

  1. 📍Choose a placement that’s easy to reach, like the backrest or side of the chair.
  2. 🤲🏽 Press firmly when using adhesive to ensure a strong hold.
  3. 🧼 Clean and dry the surface before applying the adhesive for best results.
  4. 🕒 Give the adhesive some time to set before putting the chair to use, especially in high-traffic areas.
  5. 🔄 If you’re testing different locations, use painter’s tape first to preview placement before finalizing it.
  6. ✅ Test a few mounted plates before rolling out across your space to make sure everything feels secure and easy to access.
