What Processing Rates Do You Offer?
We offer flat processing rates:
- 💳 2.5% + $0.30 per authorization for credit and debit card donations
- 🏦 0.5% + $0.30 per transaction for ACH donations
That said, we’re happy to explore lower custom rates with you! If your current rates are better than our flat-rate option, we can run a cost analysis using the last 3 months of your processing data to see what’s possible for your nonprofit. 📊
Can a Single Donation Be Split Across Multiple Funds?
Not at this time. To make sure each donation is tracked correctly and receipts are accurate, our system processes one fund per donation. 🧾
🏷️ If a donor wants to support more than one fund, they can make separate donations for each fund.

Can a Donor Help Cover the Processing Fees?
Yes! This option is available within the cash giving flow. ✅ (🔗 "Donor Covers the Fees" Feature)
Why Doesn’t an ACH Donation Show Up in My Dashboard Right Away?
When a donor initiates an ACH donation, their bank may show the transaction as “Pending” immediately. However, the donation will only appear in your Dashboard and the donor’s Donor Profile once the ACH transfer has officially cleared. 🏦
Do you offer a mobile app?
We do not offer a mobile app because of Apple's restrictions on processing financial transactions within their ecosystem (excluding Apple Pay). However, Overflow's giving platform is mobile-friendly and givers can use your unique Overflow URLs to donate from any mobile device.
Does an individual donor receive a receipt after completing their donation?
Yes. Within moments of completing a gift, the donor will receive a receipt to the email address provided. For many cash donations, this is sufficient for the donor's tax records. However, if the donation is over $250, the IRS requires that the donor also be able to present an acknowledgment letter. Acknowledgment letters are automatically generated within your Overflow Dashboard. Learn more about sending acknowledgment letters here.
Why are donors directed to Overflow's website to give rather than embedding the experience within our own website?
Due to PCI Compliance regulations, giving is more secure when it is handled within our website. Therefore, donors will be directed to the Overflow environment when they click the give button on your website. We always recommend directing donors first to a giving landing page where you can communicate your vision, values, and goals, and then hyperlink a 'Give' button to your unique Overflow URLs. What is PCI Compliance?
PCI stands for payment card industry compliance and refers to the technical and operational standards that businesses follow to secure and protect credit card data provided by cardholders and transmitted through card processing transactions. PCI standards for compliance are developed and managed by the PCI Security Standards Council.
