All You Need to Know About PCI Compliance (and how to ensure you have it)
Last updated: September 9, 2026
PCI stands for "payment card industry". Now you know everything you need to, right?
You may now be able to answer an obscure trivia question, but what does PCI compliance actually mean? PCI compliance refers to the technical and operational standards that businesses follow to secure and protect credit card data provided by cardholders and transmitted through card processing transactions. PCI standards for compliance are developed and managed by the PCI Security Standards Council.
Our payment processor, CardConnect, requires that you complete your PCI compliance within 30 days of the approval of your CardConnect account. Here's how to ensure your account is compliant:
- Navigate to your CardConnect account using this link and log in. Note that your account username is your email address.
- Click on “MY ACCOUNT”.
- On the right-hand side under PCI Status, click “Not Compliant”. (This will be listed next to MID).
- You'll be taken to the SecureTrust Portal login page.
- Register your account by entering the MID (username) and security code provided on the page to the right.
- Complete the steps and click "submit".
